Power systems can also include low voltage and solar with battery backup.
DOMESTIC GATESTo Top
The specifics of the job site will ordinarily dictate what type of Gate or Gates that will best serve your purpose. If you have sloping ground, not much room, or are after a specific design to fit the architectural style of your home, we can design and manufacture an automatic gate solution for you.
An automatic gate can make accessing your property a secure, safe, reliable and easy process and will give you many years of trouble free service if designed and installed correctly in the first place. Price is always an important consideration, but should not be your first. Rectifying poor quality and bad installation practises is always far more expensive than having the job done properly in the first place.
GATE DESIGN
There are a range of options for the type and style of gate for your property, and while each site is unique, some sites require more compromises than others. It is always best practice to discuss your individual needs with us so we can advise on the most suitable way to design and install a package that suits your needs best.
In most cases, AEA prefer to fabricate our domestic gates from Aluminium. Sure, it does cost more than steel, but when considered over the life of the gate, aluminium wont rust prematurely, particularly in coastal areas and due to its lighter mass, will not strain the automatic opener and as a result will outlast an equivalent steel product. This is of particular importance if the site has a slope and the motor will need to winch a gate up an incline and control or brake the gate when going the other way.
In general our preference is to manufacture our domestic gates from Aluminium. There are many reasons for this, but primarily weight and corrosion resistance are the key factors. Another option which produces a light but sturdy gate is to build the frame from aluminium and fix timber cladding or aluminium slats to the gate’s frame. This lends itself to a variety of different but cost effective finishes while providing a strong automatic gate. We are also able to fabricate steel designs for you as well.
Whilst there are a vast range of designs available, they are by no means the limit to our manufacturing capabilities. Particularly if you are looking for a gate design to match a feature of your home or an existing fence design, we can manufacture gates to your own specific requirements.
Sliding Gates:
In general, sliding gates offer the best options for most sites as they slide across your driveway, or opening, and take up less of the valuable space within your property. Sliding automatic gates can also be used when space is limited and conventional swing gates would interfere with such things as a parking space for a vehicle, or a sloping driveway that would result in an unacceptable gap underneath a swinging gate.
All Sliding Gates require a track to run on, which we set into a concrete foundation within the driveway, however it maybe possible to fit this to your existing driveway surface. A Gate’s track is a fundamentally important aspect to its performance & reliability, and if not done correctly in the first instance can require expensive remedial work later from cracking with the weight of traffic. We offer many options in track design and installation. If side room is tight, we can use a pulley and cable system to reduce the space required in opening the gate.
Swing Gates:
Sometimes the space available for your gate, will not allow for the installation of a sliding gate or the design of the driveway lends itself to the use of Swinging Gates, be they double or single leaf.
Product selection is extremely important with this style of gate, as many factors contribute. Weight, width, wind resistance, and duty cycle must be taken into account as relative criteria when establishing the best options for your site.
AUTOMATION OF EXISTING GATESTo Top
In many cases we are able to fit automatic gate openers to existing gates and even new gates that have been installed by other contactors.
If your existing gates are in good condition, automating them may be an option to consider. Other factors that will need considering for this option will be if the current gate hinges, gate pillars, if the mounting points are strong enough for automation equipment & would an electrical supply be able to be wired out to the current gates?
We also replace old or worn out automatic equipment on existing sliding and swinging gates.
AEA is an independent company that supply a range of gate automation products, we are confident that we will be able to meet your automatic gate requirements.
SOLAR GATESTo Top
AEA install Solar gate automation products, particularly where the gate maybe in a remote location from a 240 Volt power source. All systems are remote and safe with either 12 or 24 volt motors and will work on non-sunny days, with the capacity for approx 10 open and close cycles daily. Even more with larger solar panels and battery storage.
GATE ACCESSORIESTo Top
As well as opening your gates with a remote control, there are many other options, including keypads, key switches, card/prox tag readers, or even fingerprint readers, that you can add to your gate automation.
Add a coded keypad to the gates, so that trusted friends or family can enter a code to access your property. Add a timer to your gates, so they stay open at certain times, leaving the option to have them closed overnight. Have your gate remote controls connected to your garage door/s, allowing different buttons on the same remote to operate all your access points, even including your exterior lights and alarms. Include security allowances, for pedestrian only access. Fit battery backups, in case of a power failure.
We supply a wide range of products and brands of Gate accessories, please do not hesitate to call us, as we will happily chat with you about your gate automation needs, or see our ‘Remote Controls and Keypads’ page for further access control ideas.
Please Note: All Electric Gate Automation control boxes must plug into a 240 volt power source from your house or property and then low voltage garden cable runs to the automatic gate motors beside the gate/s. Please note that we do not include connection to 240 Volts power, however this can be arranged separately for you.
